An interview with Asel Luzarraga, a Basque anarchist framed in Chile for supporting the indigenous Mapuche and author of The Good Don’t Use Umbrellas
Transcript

No transcript...

Asel Luzarraga is a Basque writer who was falsely imprisoned in Chile in 2010 for his anarchist views and writing about state terrorism against the indigenous Mapuche people. His book, The Good Don’t Use Umbrellas, details how Chilean security forces and prosecutors tried to frame him—and how he managed to regain his freedom. He is now petitioning the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights to clear his name—the only European to do so. We caught up with Asel to hear about his campaign.
