At first I thought this post must be old, as saying that poverty rose due to Milei’s policies is untrue, provided the most recent statistic shows poverty is decreasing and it’s estimated that it will end under 2023 values.

During Milei’s presidency, inflation went down significantly, country risk rate is down, the peso appreciated, real salary is up, and Argentina is reinserting itself in the world market after years of protectionism and isolation. All of these things contribute to a much better quality of life, especially for the middle and lower classes. You can see this in the recent approval ratings statistics.

I agree with the fact that Milei’s public speaking skills are lacking as he comes off aggressive, but the economy is doing undeniably well after years of instability.

Thanks for your comment Sofia: at the time of this post most credible news outlets were reporting that poverty had risen sharply under Milei:

His "chainsaw economics" are causing delight in the world of free market economics as they will undoubtedly benefit the tiresome usual suspects who already have deep pockets. Argentina's chattering classes will certainly bask, as they always like to do, in the international attention their latest saviour gives their country. But it is hard to understand your faith in how these policies will benefit the lower classes. All the evidence suggests that they will pay the price for middle-class and investor confidence. As ever.
